The Volunteer Auxiliary at TriStar Skyline Medical Center has awarded scholarships to local students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare.

“TriStar Skyline is pleased to announce our 2016 student scholarship winners and extend our gratitude to these young professionals that will go on to shape the future of healthcare,” said Steve Otto, chief executive officer at TriStar Skyline. “Healthcare is a personal calling and we are committed to ensuring the greater Nashville community has access to a high quality education and support for continued success.”

Each scholarship recipient will receive $2,000 to put towards their tuition, in addition to gift cards to assist with school and dorm room expenses.

2016 Skyline Auxiliary Scholarship Recipients

Madison Snyder

  • Daughter of Kent and Debra Snyder of Hendersonville
  • Pursuing nursing at Florida Gulf Coast University

Meagan Smith

  • Daughter of Don Smith and Jamie Smith of Springfield
  • Pursuing nursing at Nashville State Community College

Catherine Anglea

  • Daughter of Cordell and Michelle Anglea of Joelton
  • Pursuing neuroscience at Mercer University

Jacob Berti

  • Son of John and Florence Berti of Old Hickory
  • Pursuing biology at Berry College

TriStar Skyline’s Auxiliary Scholarship Program is open to high school seniors in Davidson, Robertston, Cheatham and Sumner counties, as well as children of employees at TriStar Skyline Medical Center and TriStar Skyline Madison Campus who plan to pursue studies in the medical field.

Award criteria includes grade point average, college entrance test scores, community service, school involvement, extracurricular activities, leadership experience, a written essay and financial need.
